Position Description:
The Public Administrative Analyst Assistant works under the under the supervision of the Principal Investigator for HHIPP along with working in directed collaboration with the CO-PI and Director of Research Programs.

The Public Administrative Analyst Assistant will serve as a member of the HHIPP research team and is assigned responsibility to coordinate a variety of activities related to funded research.

The Public Administrative Analyst Assistant will apply tools and approaches from methodologies in public health, epidemiology, social sciences, and statistics to projects for the HHIPP research team. The Public Administrative Analyst Assistant will be responsible for but not limited to: assisting the team in coordinating administrative tasks related to research and research dissemination; developing research protocols based on project proposals; managing day-to-day implementation of research activities; assigning tasks to staff and work study students and overseeing their work; attending community meetings and incorporating information and feedback into research products; assisting with cleaning, merging, and matching data sets for analysis; preparing presentations including graphs and tables to display research results, gathering references, copyediting, and confirming internal consistency; collaborating with investigators and community partners; and assisting in the preparation of manuscripts and technical research reports.

The Public Administrative Analyst Assistant will support and manage multiple projects with various deadlines. Within the HHIPP research team, the Public Administrative Analyst will focus on (1) HIV health disparities; (2) HIV law and policy; (3) HIV at the intersection of mental health and substance use; and (4) LGBT health.

The Public Administrative Analyst Assistant will operate with a high degree of autonomy. The incumbent will independently determine how to carry out assignments, make independent judgments regarding whether topics require additional consultation, and with whom, and undertake appropriate action.

The Public Administrative Analyst Assistant will be proactive in managing deadlines, identifying potential problems, and bringing appropriate issues to the attention of PI and Co-PI while providing creative recommendations or action.
