Ideal Candidate Statement

Position
PLEASE NOTE
Ohlone College is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for temporary part-time teaching assignments. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis and are on-going recruitments. Assignments may include day, evening and weekend courses and may be taught synchronously online or fully online.

As staffing needs arise, our Division Deans will review the part-time faculty pools and contact applicants for interviews. There are times that part-time faculty are needed to fill last minute vacancies; therefore, departments are better able to communicate their teaching needs at the time of interviews.

Applicants must meet the minimum academic requirements listed in order to be considered for the pool of qualified candidates. Applicants that meet the minimum requirements are not automatically accepted to teach at Ohlone. As this application is for a pool of applicants, it may take time before you are contacted.

Duties and Responsibilities
Teach and assess students.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to the adjunct faculty pool, the College currently has a part-time position available to teach in web design.

•HTML5 and CSS – Intermediate to Expert
•JavaScript – Intermediate
•Solid practices in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, including wireframing and prototyping
•Experience with Visual Studio Code or other code editors
•Experience with FTP programs
Teaching experience at the community college level desired but not required.

Minimum Qualifications
Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience OR any associate degree and six years of experience.

Starting Salary Range
Salary Range Hourly Lecture: $73.32-$115.15; Hourly Lab: $62.95-$98.87 DOE
