  • Position Description:

    The post-doctoral position will be in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. This candidate will  carry out experimental R&Don the CdTe PV technology platform. Coordinates and advises on therelated research of graduate and undergraduate students.



    • Ph.D. degree in physics, materials science, or a closely related field.
    • Experience working with photovoltaic (PV) materials and devices.
    • Demonstrated success in improving PV device performance throughmaterials science and engineering.

    Communication and other skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as demonstratedthrough an interview or recorded presentation, and through examples of reportsand primary author papers.
    • Experience with a range of instrumentation commonly used to evaluatesolar cells.
    • Potential to take initiative and coordinate the research of students toachieve success towards primary goals.

    Working Conditions:Works in a research laboratory setting, with possible high stress levels and a constant need for vigilance to operate safely with regard to chemicals, lasers, and electronic measurements. The position requires at times the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. to move equipment. Some laboratory activities may introduce exposure to hazardous chemicals and related fumes, noise, and irregular work shifts.
