The Faculty of Counseling and Counseling Psychology (CCP) in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position. CCP offers an APA-accredited doctoral program in counseling psychology and a master of counseling program that is approved by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.

Successful candidates will be expected to engage in research applicable to counseling and counseling psychology; seek external funding to support the research program; teach required courses in both the doctoral and master’s programs; apply innovative teaching techniques; advise and mentor masters and doctoral students; and provide service to the profession, unit, college, and university.

This is an academic year (9-month) appointment with an expected start date of August 16, 2021. The position is a benefits-eligible appointment with tenure implications.  Course load and composition are determined by the faculty head. 

Required Qualifications:

• Doctorate from an APA-accredited Counseling Psychology program or related field at the time of appointment
• Published research in peer-reviewed journals
• Strong evidence for the promise of scholarly research and publications in counseling and counseling psychology
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching
• Ability to teach in digital environments (incl. synchronous and asynchronous)
• Evidence of a commitment to meeting the needs of diverse/underrepresented student and/or community populations via research, teaching/mentoring, or service.

Desired Qualifications:

• Record or demonstrated potential of securing external funding
• Eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in Arizona
• Specialty areas of teaching and research are open but must be appropriate to counseling and counseling psychology
• Experience teaching in digital environments
• Active involvement in professional organizations
