Part time position (25 hours/week). Perform a variety of tasks associated with benefit and payroll operations. Acts as the liaison between benefit and payroll related tasks, operations and projects. Responsible for premium and deduction reconciliation for 2000 employees and retirees. Offer suggestions, advice and solutions regarding benefits and payroll procedures. High level of customer service and employee interaction. Researches, reconciles and resolves issues. Manges and maintains deductions and plans within the HRIS system. Assists with administering all types of university leave including, but not limited to Worker’s Comp, FMLA, LOA, and sabbaticals.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

  • Benefit Reconciliation and deduction maintenance, check requests and retiree premiums (50%)
  • FMLA, Worker’s Comp, Leave of Absence, Leave Share, sabbaticals (25%)
  • Qualifying Life Events (5%)
  • Deduction and Plan Maintenance (10%)
  • Data Sets, Adds and Replaces (10%)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Experience Required:

    Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field plus 3+ years of relevant experience in the Human Resources field or 7+ years of equivalent related work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.

    Experience Preferred:

    Strong knowledge of Excel techniques such as v-lookups/other formulas. Excellent customer service skills. The ability to think critically and multi-task. Experience with Paycom

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Excellent oral and written communication skills. Great customer service skills and the ability to keep calm and speak respectfully even if the situation gets stressful. Must possess good organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Must be detailed oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and database management.
