Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT – innovation.gsu.edu) is seeking  a part-time, skilled and diverse Computer Services Assistant. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all technology in the testing environment is operationally sound, assist with daily test administration duties, proctor high stakes exams, provide excellent customer service, maintain the confidentiality and security of test-takers’ information. This position will also assist students with Campus ID account management (passwords, etc.) and assist with training new proctors.


A flexible schedule that coincides with testing hours (to be further disclosed) is a must. This vacancy will staff the Downtown Atlanta Campus and will not exceed 29 hours per week.


The scope of responsibilities for this position will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following,

  • Report status of technology issues through campus ticketing system and other forms of official communication (i.e. email, chat client or additional supervisor directed tool). Support the resolution of Help tickets for technology requests or incident. Monitor the exam room and ensure that students do not indulge in misconduct they complete exams. Refers complex questions to higher-level specialists.

  • Provides technical assistance and training to faculty, staff, and students in the use of testing software and hardware; instructs the user in the proper use of equipment or software. Answer students’ questions and resolve issues during tests.

  • Performs entry-level technical support of IT/AV enabled spaces and including IT equipment upgrades, testing, and replacements. Troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software related issues.

  • Assist with Proctored Lab Coordinator with responsibilities including administrative tasks, such as preparing administrative reports, creating and det up testing schedule and reporting any violation of testing protocols (e.g., cheating, collusion, use of reference materials/ electronic devises; note-taking; etc.).



QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED and one year experience working with computer software packages and equipment; or a combination of education and related experience.
