Restricted Funds Accountant I
St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Restricted Funds Accountant I. This role performs standard accounting functions such as ledger maintenance, journal entry posting, complex analyses, and reconciliations to include, but not limited to: grants, endowments, loan funds, financial aid, and other general ledger accounts. Ensure that accounting activities are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles. Analyzes financial and operating data and prepares management reports and financial statements, as required.
For consideration: Bachelor's degree in accounting required. At least one year of experience in an accounting role. Experience in higher education preferred. Skill in developing and using complex spreadsheets. Ability to evaluate and recommend appropriate accounting entries for transactions; apply appropriate accounting concepts and theories; analyze financial data, research accounting issues, and recommend solutions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work with minimal supervision and comply with internal and external deadlines. Non-profit and fund accounting, FASB, GAAP, government grants, federal financial aid, external audits, and single audit experience is a must. Must possess the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
