Job Description:

Responsible for basic Tier 1 & 2 software and hardware support: 40%
Provide Tier 1 & 2 technical support through remote services, emails, in-person office walk-ins, and phone calls. Using established processes and procedures assist in the deployment and administration of; enterprise desktops, software, supplemental hardware, mobile computing devices, printers, and other computer peripherals.

Maintain IT knowledge base and documentation: 25%
Create and maintain IT documentation and knowledgebase for future use by ICBR and CI staff. Maintain and grow IT knowledge through reading, self-studying, on-line, and face-to-face learning activities and interactions.

Maintain Inventory and Surplus equipment: 20%
Assist with the asset management of IT equipment, including evaluating hardware for surplus.

User Education and Outreach: 10%
Assist users with initial sign-on and access to software and files as designated by their supervisors. Plan, organize, and execute user education engagement activities such as town halls, newsletters, and other IT education initiatives.

Other: 5%
Other Duties as needed.

Expected Salary:

$16.50 - $18.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work independently to solve problems and meet deadlines, as well as work well with others in a team environment.
  • The ability to follow standard operating procedures, policies, and generate this documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are also required.
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral) skills are required.
  • Friendly, professional, courteous demeanor and adherence to ICBR values expected.
  • Demonstrable experience with high performance computing, virtualization, supporting scientific instrumentation, experience supporting storage, networking, and computational resources is desirable.
