About the College/Unit/Department:About the College of Engineering: The College of Engineering, formed on July 1, 2012, is building a vibrant academic environment that fosters engineering education in a liberal arts environment and research that addresses critical societal needs. The College offers eight accredited undergraduate and seven graduate engineering degree programs spanning all engineering fields. Minimum Qualifications:Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:- 1 or more years of experience in data analytics and/or survey design
- Experience in presenting technical information to a non-technical audience
- Experience dealing with large data sets
- Experience with statistical programing languages or packages such as Python, R, Java, C++, or VBA.
The Academic Affairs Coordinator will provide support and assistance in carrying out the routine functions of the Academic Affairs Office in the College of Engineering. Job functions include coordinating the accreditation and assessment process for the college, conduct various internal and external surveys for data collection, assist in analyzing data, provide assistance in managing the faculty promotion and tenure process, and other related administrative support as necessary. The Academic Affairs Coordinator will report to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the college. The position may involve supervision of student workers and/or other support personnel as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:Excellent analytical skills are used for collection and analysis of vast data sets. Problem solving and teamwork skills are a plus. Knowledge of accreditation and assessment processes in higher education institution is a plus. Competency in survey and data analytics platforms is desirable. Proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and OUTLOOK. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization, time management and teamwork skills are necessary.
Physical Demands:While performing duties of this job, the employee is expected to spend many hours a day sitting in front of a computer, the employee will stand; walk; travel between buildings in the campus to attend meetings, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, use close, distant and peripheral vision. Position may include occasional out of town travel.

Duties/Responsibilities:Support Accreditation and Assessment
- Responsibilities include assisting the college faculty and the Associate Dean in coordinating the accreditation and assessment functions in the college for a variety of accreditation boards including ABET, SACSCOC as well as for internal assessment projects. Tasks may include compilation, organization and tracking of historical academic records, learning and understanding of various accreditation requirements. Uses communication with the faculty and department chairs on a regular basis and working with the university’s assessment office.

Duties/Responsibilities:Data Collection, Surveys, Analysis and Reports
- Responsibilities include collecting and managing various surveys that are conducted by the college for various purposes, assist in collecting and analyzing data for various academic functions, assist in completion of ASEE and US NEWS surveys for the college. Functions may include data analysis, producing graph, and report generation. Uses good analytical skills and experience with excel and online survey tools.

- Responsibilities include provide administrative assistance to the Associate Dean for handling faculty promotion, tenure and adjunct appointments, by scheduling meetings, organizing files, sending reminders etc. Uses good organization and communication skills

Duties/Responsibilities:Other Academic Affairs Functions
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor on an ongoing basis. Functions may include assistance to graduate and undergraduate programs as needs evolve. Responsibilities are subject to revision annually depending on the changing needs of the college.
