Job Summary: The Associate Director CCS provides leadership and oversight of a division in the College of Continuing Studies.

Additional Department Summary: The Division of Online Learning supports the development, design, and delivery of all distance academic and continuing education programs offered through the College of Continuing Studies. This position reports to the Director of Online Learning and will work in collaboration with other CCS leadership to ensure that all the functional areas supporting online education work together to build effective relationships across Bama By Distance, UA academic partners, and external stakeholders. This position will work to identify and support existing online programs, assist in designing and building innovative online programs and products in partnership with CCS senior leadership, academic units, faculty administrators, and various employers.

The Associate Director for Program Development will supervise a team of highly productive Program Managers and will provide leadership in the areas of researching, developing, managing, and evaluating online academic degree programs, faculty professional development programs in collaborative partnership with each academic college at UA, and continuing education certifications in coordination with corporate and external stakeholders.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and five (5) years of experience; OR Doctoral degree and two (2) years of experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to design evaluation and research projects, effective interpersonal skills, experience with budgeting, financial management, and supervision of personnel.

Preferred Qualifications: Degree field in education, adult education, communications, or business preferred. Experience in higher education, continuing education, K-12 education, communications, technology, or business preferred.

Experience in a college or university environment preferred. Prefer direct experience managing online programs to scale; financial forecasting experience; experience working with multiple stakeholders and demonstrated success managing complex projects.
