This position provides student and program support for the online Strategic and Digital Communication (SDC) concentration of the Master’s in communication and information. The position supports and assists enrolled distance education students from their recruitment to graduation with an MS degree, and supports the program by performing advanced clerical functions for the department. 
Student support job duties are as follows:
- Provides information to prospective SDC students about the degree program and career objectives and goals in seeking the online Master's degree.
- Represents the university and promotes the program at recruiting events.
- Executes recruitment strategies and programs for new and prospective students.
- Support enrolled distance education students from their recruitment to graduation with an MS degree.
- Advises students through course selection and registration. Answers questions about curriculum, and assists students with registration problems. Reviews applications for completeness and accuracy prior to forwarding to program manager for review.
- Plans orientation activities and represents the university at orientation events.
- Refers students to proper resources for financial assistance requests.
- Manages student records and provides technical support to students.
- Provides information about activities that may be relevant to students enrolled in the degree program including but not limited to professional development activities, internship opportunities, and career related events.

Program Support job duties are as follows:
- Serves as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, potential students, and external stakeholders. Interacts with faculty and staff to deliver information and determine teaching or program related needs.
- Coordinates course offerings with program manager, including timetable preparation and teaching assignments. Enters information into Student Information System to create timetable of classes. Makes revisions in system as needed.
- Performs financial activities to support the program, including purchasing, maintaining budget, and reconciling department ledgers. Maintains and sets retention procedures for departmental financial records, personnel files and general records.
- Utilizes specialized software to support the program including IRIS, Slate, and Banner.
- Assists with event coordination, and prepares publicity materials.
- Gathers data and assists with preparation of reports


QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience working in a higher education or similar environment; a master’s degree is preferred. Excellent communication and outreach skills are also required.
