Mabel, Tucson, AZ 85721 USA Position HighlightsWe are accepting applications for a Research Specialist, Senior in the laboratory of Dr. James Galligan in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arizona. The lab is focused on how cellular metabolism regulates histone modifications and gene expression within the context of diabetes. We use a variety of approaches including cell culture, molecular biology, animal models, and mass spectrometry to study the regulation of both novel and documented histone modifications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops, plans, designed, and executes cell culture experiments
  • Performs animal students including colony maintenance, dosing, biosampling, necropsy, organ harvesting, and IACUC protocols.
  • Laboratory management, including ordering and maintaining supplies and reagents, assisting with writing grant proposals and publications, and maintaining equipment.
  • Guides the work of others.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
