Position Description:
Launched in 2016, the Masters of Applied Economics (MAE) is an innovative 9-month graduate degree program aimed at empowering students with the quantitative and analytical skills necessary to solve the challenges of today's business world. This position will play a powerful role in expanding the reach of the MAE program by building relationships with employers, alumni, industry leaders and potential partners worldwide.
The Assistant Director of Outreach & Engagement will establish effective working relationships with internal and external partners including alumni, potential employers, community members, faculty, instructors, staff and students on behalf of the MAE program. The incumbent will develop and implement strategies to increase program visibility worldwide to support employer outreach efforts, identification of potential students, and promote community/alumni engagement activities. Primary duties include: (1) Design program outreach and marketing materials. (2) Develop relationships with potential employers to connect MAE students with internships, and job opportunities post-graduation. (3) Recruit and provide program details to potential students worldwide. (4) Maintain strong relationships with MAE alumni and create opportunities for graduates to remain connected to the program. (5) Work collaboratively with units across campus including Development, Career Center, Alumni Affairs, and Marketing & Communications. (6) Prepare specialized reports and updates for CAO, Program Director, Faculty Director and Chair. (7) Coordinate with Program Director and Faculty Director on special projects. Work will include some evenings, weekends and travel.
