Appointment: The University of Puget Sound invites applications for the Philip M. Phibbs Professor in Economics. This position is a tenure-track, full-time position to begin Fall 2021. We seek an applied economist with preparation to teach and undertake research in macroeconomics, with preference for empirical macroeconomics (C4, N0), macroeconomic policy (E5, E6), money and banking (E4, E5, E6). Secondary fields of interest include: history of thought (B1, B2), international economics (F13, F14), welfare, well-being, and poverty (I3).

Responsibilities: Standard teaching assignment is three courses per semester. Duties include advising students and participating in departmental and university governance. The Philip M. Phibbs Professorship, an endowed chair named for Puget Sound president emeritus Philip Phibbs, supports a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position with additional resources to support excellence in teaching and scholarship until they are tenured.

Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred (ABD considered) in Economics.
