Job Responsibilities

These positions report to the Building/Grounds Manager and responsible for preventive maintenance and maintenance tasks which include performing master craftsman level building skills in the construction, maintenance, and renovation of college facilities. Perform skilled duties in general building maintenance, renovation, repair, and construction on routine and emergency basis campus-wide. Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting, and general maintenance activities in accordance with applicable codes, laws, accepted trade practices, and safety procedures.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

These positions require an associate degree and four (4) years directly related experience to include one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; or a high school diploma and six (6) years directly related experience to include one (1) year in a supervisory capacity. Valid SC driver's license is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with craft tools, equipment, and materials used in general building maintenance and construction trades. Must have the ability to prepare, read, and interpret construction sketches and specifications. Candidate will possess a high degree of technical expertise and safety conscious work habits, to fulfill the general maintenance needs effectively and efficiently, without endangering or inconveniencing the college community. This position requires the use of various tools and equipment and performs heavy manual labor. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
