Advertised Job Summary:The Instructor of Musical Theatre will assume varied teaching responsibilities in the new Musical Theatre concentration of the School of Music’s Bachelor of Arts degree program. These will include applied instruction in varied styles of musical theatre, in addition to classical vocal training, and developing and directing musical theatre workshop. The Instructor will collaborate with the Director of Opera Studies in programming and productions. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:DMA, MFA, or MM, with requisite professional experience, is required. The candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of the musical theatre repertoire. A collaborative work-style and an interest in program building and recruitment is required.
Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of two years teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred. Strong keyboard skills are preferred.
