Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 10lbs; regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally dealing with combative/violent people; and occasional job-related travel (< 10% of the time)

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with some evenings, nights, and weekends required per business needs.

Job Summary

UK HealthCare (UKHC) is a comprehensive health care system consisting of medical, nursing, health sciences, public health, dental, and pharmacy patient care activities at the University of Kentucky. The Office of Corporate Compliance (OCC) was established in 1998 by the UKHC Executive Vice President for Health Affairs and the UK Board of Trustees to support the clinical enterprise. The OCC promotes a culture of ethics and compliance that is central to all of UKHC operations and activities; understands the nature of the risks and potential risks of UKHC operations and activities; and manages risks that may lead to financial, legal, and/or reputational loss. The OCC is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Compliance Data Manager position.

Reporting directly to the Compliance Operations Officer, the Compliance Data Manager will function as a key resource for the analytics structure, data, and reporting functions for the OCC. This individual will serve as a key contributor in the quality, consistency, and integrity of data working under the guidance of the OCC leadership team. Duties will support data processes organized according to UKHC and industry standards and best practices; define test strategies based on analysis of UKHC design documentation, business, and standards requirements; and contribute to the design of processes to support reporting. The Compliance Data Manager will also work closely with stakeholders to support changes, research problems, and propose, execute and document test cases to identify potential data issues.

The ideal candidate for the Compliance Data Manager position will have an understanding of, and exposure to, health care data (e.g., patient, claims, financial, clinical, and provider data), and operations in conjunction with the knowledge of data set development, quantitative data analysis methodology, and analytical tools for reporting. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills (both written and oral), and will be detail-oriented in order to ensure requirements are being met.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills and will have a strong background in compliance and/or privacy data.

At least six years of experience in health care operations or health care data analysis, and knowledge of data analysis methodology and analytical tools for reporting. Experience with compliance and/or privacy data also preferred.

In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts.
