Trades/Utilities Master Mech (Electrician)

Position Summary:

Provide master mechanic electrical, structural maintenance repair as well as incidental support for carpentry and plumbing repairs for all facilities.

Required Qualifications:

•High School graduate or equivalent.
•Master Electrician’s License.
•Valid driver’s license.
•Substantial electrical experience with some experience in plumbing and carpentry repairs.
•Extensive knowledge in the practices, methods, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
•Some knowledge in the practices, methods, materials, and tools of the carpentry and plumbing trades.
•Demonstrated ability to perform general carpentry work in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding, concrete forms, wood fixtures, and furniture.
•Demonstrated ability to interpret construction specifications and drawings and conduct research using vendor submittals.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
•Demonstrated ability decide on means and methods of task accomplishment on work orders with general guidance by supervisor; determine materials and parts required to complete tasks; order parts from storeroom; and coordinate schedules and appointments with customers.

Conditions of Employment::

This position is subject to overtime and schedule changes and may be required to work shifts during weekends, holidays, and special events.

Incumbent will be required to participate in the Facilities Management “on-call” program.

This position has been designated as essential to the operation of the department, will require reporting to work when the University is officially closed, and is subject to overtime.
