All such property is on loan to the Division of Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences and Cooperative Extension (ALVSCE) and is under USDA title, accountability and control. The Federal Excess Property Assistant in ALVSCE fully supports the FEPP Officer and has delegated authority to perform duties in support of the FEPP Program. Responsibilities include all business processes involved in the acquisition, physical inventory, reporting, and disposal of federal excess equipment that is “on loan” from the USDA. The FEPP Assistant acts on behalf of the FEPP Officer during any absence and has recognized signature authority with the USDA Office. The Assistant also attends meetings and discussions with ALVSCE employees and users to understand and assist with their equipment needs.

  • Coordinate with ALVSCE employees who are program participants to provide support, assistance, and advice in understanding and utilizing the program. Help the users in preparation of necessary documents for submittal to USDA.
  • Provide support in the day-to-day operation of the FEPP program to assist users to acquire new equipment, insure accurate record keeping, maintain existing equipment, and dispose of outdated or unusable equipment.
  • Maintain the in-house software application for Federal Excess Property including data entry of acquisitions, recording activity on equipment such as reassignment, preparation and submittal of disposal documents, and notation of physical verification and inventory reporting.
  • Participate in regular discussions and communications with users including principal investigators, property asset custodians, and other departmental and extension personnel. Responsible for follow-through to assist in acquisition and disposal requests and other program needs.
  • Responsible for physical inventory and verification of FEPP equipment as required by USDA including all communications and follow-up with users and recording users’ verification of physical inspection. Submit final report to USDA.
  • Ability to provide information and guidance with tact and diplomacy to diverse users.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience acquired.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience in the use and development of spreadsheets and record keeping software
