The Financial Aid Campus Specialist conducts financial aid awareness presentations which include custom presentations for Pell Grant recipients regarding their rights and responsibilities. The Specialist works with the financial aid Academic Success Plan program and assists the Director with one-on-one financial aid advising.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists SFAS director with acceptance, review and notification of financial aid students about their Academic Success Plans
• Collaborates with Counseling Office to ensure effective transition and communication to students about their financial aid Academic Success Plan
• Conducts financial aid presentations at New Student Orientations, New Student Group Advising, Student Success Course and other programs on the campus
• Works with College Access department, SFAS Director, Student Activities and other Student Services departments to conduct financial aid awareness presentations
• Conducts custom presentations for Pell Grant recipients to inform recipients of their rights and responsibilities, including the Lifetime Eligibility Used provision
• Advises financial aid students on all aspects of financial aid services
• Collaborates with District SFAS to communicate information to Pell Grant students about their Pell Grant rights and responsibilities
• Uses social media, including Twitter and Facebook to communicate with students about their Pell Grant status
• Conducts cross-training on Pell Grant recipient rights and responsibilities to other TCC departments
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the TCC Institute
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Financial Aid experience and/or knowledge of Title IV programs
• Effective communication skills, including report writing and oral presentation
• Demonstrated problem solving skills

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university
• Experience in a large, multi-campus college environment
• Experience with Elluician’s Colleague Management System
• Experiencing developing financial aid and other student development activities
• Demonstrated experience and skill with speaking in public
• Bilingual – Spanish
