The Executive Director of IT Systems (EDITS) is responsible for aiding the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in overseeing IT-related initiatives that strengthen College-wide technology services while enabling the College to operate more efficiently. As a key member of the senior leadership team of the Information Technology Division, the EDITS works collaboratively with College leadership and departmental stakeholders across the College. The Executive Director of IT Systems reports directly to the CTO and stands in for CTO in absentia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Assists the CTO in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating college Information Technology resources and functions
•Leads strategic and operational planning, aligning IT priorities and actions in support of College-wide goals
•Develops strategy for communicating IT decisions that impact College operations
•Functions as the CTO’s in absentia with decision making authority
•Oversees and provides guidance on numerous IT cross-department initiatives to ensure collaboration, financial planning, and project delivery
•Assists in the research, implementation and monitoring of technology directions, and best practices
•Consults with external technology experts to identify emerging IT trends and opportunities
•Assists in the formulation, recommendation and enforcement of policies relevant to technology at the college
•Provides direct oversight for organizational staffing changes and requests
•Ensures resources are justified and best aligned with services that advance the college’s goals
•Represents the CTO in meetings and planning groups as necessary
•Serves on college, system, and professional committees
•Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
•Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
•Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
•Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

•Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
•Ten (10) years of IT related work experience in Higher Education within a large institution setting
•Five (5) years of experience in an IT management supervisory role

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

•Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles and practices to strategically align tasks and people with college goals and objectives
•Knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles and practices of ITIL v3-v4 standards to ensure best practices for IT Service Management
•Knowledge of principles and practices of project planning, development and evaluation
•Ability to strategically plan and serve as a catalyst for organizational change

•Ability to understand existing systems, emerging technologies, and best practices in applying procedures, tools, and methods
•Ability to plan and manage concurrent tasks, assignments, projects, and deadlines
