The Senior Director, Total Rewards provides leadership and strategic oversight for the University of Toledo's Total Rewards Team (which includes compensation, benefits, leave administration and wellness). This position is responsible for the development of a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns employee rewards with results that support university objectives. Responsibilities include the coordination, direction and supervision of daily activities that cover the overall design, implementation, communication, and administration of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, leave administration, wellness, as well as vendor/contract negotiations and management. In addition, the position ensures that total reward programs meet all legal requirements, works closely with internal/external customers to develop and execute well defined short and long term strategies to attract, reward and retain top talent, and identify and participate in process re-design efforts to gain efficiencies and increase customer satisfaction levels throughout the university.Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in business or related field required. MBA or MSA preferred.Minimum of 15 years' experience in Human Resources with 7 years compensation and benefits experience. Proficient with analytical and statistical tools and PC programs, including Microsoft Office Suite.Proven ability to gauge effectiveness of the organization's compensation and benefits programs and translate data into solutions to continually improve programs and practices.Demonstrated experience in total reward plan design and implementation.Ability to think strategically and objectively. Effectively translates data into actionable insights, strategies and plans.Strong verbal and written presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way and to tailor key messages and presentation style to multiple audiences.Goal oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an ever-changing environment.
