Position Summary

The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Biology to begin Fall 2021. This is a non tenure-track appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the UNT Dallas Life and Health Sciences Department which offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Biology. UNT Dallas offers faculty the unique opportunity to help shape the character of a 21st century, learner-focused, urban comprehensive university.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for teaching four (4) courses per semester. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in such service activities as curriculum development, online course development, student recruiting and advising, program assessment, project development, program leadership, and committee leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

•Masters degree in Biology or closely related discipline
•Demonstrated experience teaching core courses in Biology, such as Biology for Science Majors, Environmental Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, and the associate laboratory courses.
•Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

•PhD in Biology or closely related discipline
•Demonstrated ability to teach a variety of courses in Biology
•Interest or experience in development/delivery of online courses
•Experience with degree program assessment
•Experience advising students for the Joint Admission Medical Program or similar program
•Academic experience working on a university campus with a culturally diverse population
