The Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education (LHAE) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto invites applications for a one-year contractually limited term appointment (CLTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream with a specialization in Higher Education Administration and Organizational Studies. The CLTA appointment will commence on January 1, 2021 and end on December 31, 2021.

We are looking for a higher education scholar with demonstrated expertise and graduate teaching experience in the areas of higher education administration, organizational studies, and qualitative research methods. Familiarity with the scholarship of teaching and learning is also desirable.

Required qualifications:

  • A doctoral degree in higher education by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter;
  • University teaching experience at the graduate level in higher education administration, organizational studies, and qualitative research methods, including lecture preparation/delivery and development of online material/lectures;
  • Demonstrated scholarly expertise in higher education administration and organizational studies areas as evidenced through a publication record, or publications forthcoming;
  • Demonstrated scholarly expertise in qualitative research methods;
  • Demonstrated excellence in university teaching, as evidenced through teaching accomplishments, strong letters of reference, and the teaching dossier (including a teaching statement, sample syllabi and course materials, and teaching evaluations) submitted as part of the application;
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical practice and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities.

Desired qualifications:

  • Demonstrated capacity to teach in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

During the term of this CLTA position, the successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate courses in the above-mentioned areas, advise master’s students, and engage in departmental service.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
