Provide literacy and English language development tutoring in an after-school setting, plan and coordinate activities for students learning the English language, plan and coordinate after school clubs, assist with field trips, help supervise JCPS students during outdoor recess, set-up and clean-up after school program as well as other duties assigned by director. Attend staff development trainings twice a month.

As long as Jackson County Public schools is operating virtually, LEAP will be an on-line afterschool program which means tutors would provide on-line academic support to individual and small groups of CVS students. Tutor’s schedules will depend on the availability of individual CVS students. Tutors may also be asked to develop and run on-line clubs to promote CVS student engagement and continued learning.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

Prior experience working in an afterschool and/or educational setting. Bilingual and/or experience working with English Language Learners preferred. Needs to be available Mondays thru Thursdays from 2-6pm (though actual days and work times may vary).
