Ensures sound fiscal management and compliance, including interpreting Florida Statutes, State and University financial and human resources policies/procedure, and State Comptroller and University Controller Memoranda. Performs periodic fiscal audits of staff work products to ensure adequate internal controls.
Performs budgetary functions to include compiling financial data and monitoring fund balances of E&G, Auxiliaries, and Foundation. Coordinates all routine reports and provides financial analysis to management on a regular basis. Conducts the reconciliation processes, ensuring that all procedures are fully documented and in compliance with University policies. Reviews and analyzes reports. Produces financial reports for the College's Assistant Director for Finance and Administration.
Provides guidance on all HR transaction functions for the College. Possesses general knowledge of HR functions of the University, ensuring that mutually defined/agreed upon services are provided. Provides recommendations to the Assist. Director for Finance & Administration for formulating and implementing administrative, academic and/or financial policies within the financial and human resources areas.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or high school diploma and six years of experience.
(Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Experience compiling, reviewing, and editing financial information for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Experience utilizing problem solving skills.
Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of management.
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and preparation of financial reports.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal control systems.
Experience working with Microsoft Office, Excel, and other applicable computer applications.
Knowledge of electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities.
