The ECU Water Resources Center is looking for a dedicated and independent individual to aid in supporting communication and social media activities of its affiliated faculty and students. This position will be 100% remote telework. This employee will be responsible for the production of media content for deployment through social media and the Center website (water.ecu.edu). The position will be filled as soon as a qualified candidate is identified and is expected to continue through the spring semester.
-Coordinating with faculty, students, and community members to obtain information about projects and activities
-Preparing engaging media content for the public via stories, podcasts, videos, and/or social media posts
-Assisting with website development and maintenance in Wordpress
-Managing social media activities for the Water Resources Center
-Demonstrated ability to produce engaging news stories and digital media
-Experience using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Rush/Pro
-Understanding of effective website design
-Ability to work independently in an unsupervised teleworking environment
-Willingness to actively engage in media content, including conducting interviews
-Strong organizational and writing skills
-Interest in environmental issues related to water is a plus!
