Job Description:

Efficiently manage graphics, design, and interactive media production teams for the Digital Worlds Institute. Manage design and production workflow to meet schedules and specify production materials to stay within budget. Oversee new studio personnel training and recruitment. Assist in management of relationships with active and potential collaborators and clients. Employs professional Project Management techniques such as Agile, Traditional, or Risk management.

Responsible for Research production technologies and procedures and make recommendations that will increase the effectiveness of the department. Continue to pursue professional development in design and production skills as well as business skills to help with project success. Efficient and creative use of the Adobe Suite, including but not limited to, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop as well as various emerging interactive technologies.

Develop and implement successful design strategies, outlining how the design team will create deliverables and implement them. Establishes the overall artistic guidelines and quality control standards for the design of digital media projects. Works closely with Institute Administration in project budgeting, management, and long-term planning.

Essential functions:

  • Manage design and studio production workflow to meet schedules and specify production materials to meet budgets. Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or material requirements and priorities.
  • Research production technologies and procedures and make recommendations that will increase the effectiveness of the department. Also expected to anticipate and identify problems or anomalies and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • This position is responsible for hiring and training internal design staff, for identifying and contracting with freelance resources, and for assigning work on projects.
  • Assist in management of relationships with active and potential collaborators and clients and other related duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:

Commensurate with Experience

Pay Range Based on Market:

(Annualized)

Lower reference point: $51,500 Midpoint: $66,900 Upper Reference point: $82,300

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in graphic design.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to all minimum qualifications: A Master’s degree in an area related to Digital Arts & Sciences. Experience in communicating effectively with clients and collaborators. A firm understanding of Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Illustrator, as well as the Unity game engine and related technologies. Knowledge and familiarity with learning management systems and best E-Learning practices, video conferencing software, studio production and post-production, scheduling coordination and studio management.
