Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree in accounting/finance, public administration, business administration or related field.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible administrative experience, preferably in higher education, including direct personnel management.
- Experience in PeopleSoft.

Position Summary

This position has a high level of responsibility and serves as the Financial and Administration Manager for the Office of Executive Programs. Position works in tandem with the Director of Executive Programs and the College’s Administrative Financial Director in planning, organizing, leading and controlling the business, budgeting, accounting, auditing and related activities for the Office. The Finance Manager serves as the department’s champion for transitioning into the Salesforce CRM system, working with the College’s Office of Information Technology to coordinate implementation of the system’s registration and finance modules. Overall duties include: management of professional, fiscal and administrative work in planning, organizing, leading controlling the fiscal, instructional, HR and logistical activities of the department, project financial needs and oversee program budgets, manage approved budgets, prepare reports and provide information to Dean/ Directors. Under the direction of the Administrative Financial Director, the position supervises a designated Business Office team, and provides assistance to faculty and staff regarding policies/procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

•Extensive knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, and procedures as well as business, budget and financial processes and practices.
•Extensive knowledge of UGA HR and Payroll rules, regulations and procedures.
•Proficient in UGA’s PeopleSoft Financial system, Human Capital Management (HCM), Hyperion reporting system, UGAMart Purchasing and other systems.
•Proficient in use of Salesforce cloud-based software system, including implementation and management of registration and financial functions and capabilities.
•Computer skills – MS Word, Excel (advanced), and database related software.
•Ability to work independently on complex issues relating to day-to-day operations of a Department.
•Strong leadership and communication skills.

Direct & manage budgeting, accounting & preparation of financial reports
•Advise the Director of Executive Programs on all financial and budgetary matters.
•Manage Executive Education income and operating budget for multiple programs in accordance with UGA policies and procedures.
•Projects financial needs for multiple programs based on budgets and actuals.
•Ensure preparation, generation and distribution of monthly/ quarterly/ yearly performance reports to Dean/ Department Head and other Administrators.
•Coordinate annual budgeting process and develop overall budgets for operating units for all Executive programs. Reconcile actual program performance against budget forecast with program coordinators.
•Supervise accounting functions to ensure smooth budget setup at the beginning of fiscal year and mange fiscal year-end close.
•Serve as departmental approver for UGA’s PeopleSoft Financials and OneUSG Connect systems.
•Plan and manage PeopleSoft financial system transition from Ungerboeck system.
•Assist with software implementation – PeopleSoft Financials integration and Sales Force (CRM) transition from Ungerboeck system.
•Track income and expenses across all Executive Education programs and integrate financial and CRM data.
•Create and manage costing model for all programs.
•Work closely with College’s Units regarding fiscal matters.
•Ensure Business Office team process and approve UGA-Foundation check requests, based on UGA-Foundation policies and procedures.
•Manage P-Card for the College/ Department.
•Coordinate and process extra compensation for courses taught.
•Approve and process purchase requests, expense reports, payment requests, etc.

•Manage team of Accountants and/or Sr. Accountants.
•Recruit, hire, train and supervise/ motivate Business Office team.
•Manage performance evaluations and make recommendations for promotion, raises, etc. for team.
•Hire and mange Business Office team personnel and ensure payroll processing for current and new hires.

Other Duties
•Assist Director of Executive Programs and College’s Administrative Financial Director in preparation and analysis of other reports and ad-hoc projects.
•Assist on contract negotiations and payments to 3rd parties.
•Other duties as assigned.
