Job Description Summary

The Department of Biology at Wake Forest University invites applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor position to begin July 1, 2021. The successful candidate will teach an upper level general microbiology course with two laboratory sections each semester. Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in microbiology or a related discipline. We seek candidates with experience teaching undergraduates in a discipline within the microbiological sciences as broadly defined (bacterial, archaeal, or microbial eukaryote), and who have a strong commitment to engaging students in the classroom.

Job Description:

Teaching professionals are vital members of the Wake Forest academic community and are essential to fulfilling the core teaching and service missions of the College. This is a permanent but non-tenurable, full-time position with an initial two-year contract. Promotion to ranks with longer-term appointments is possible. All faculty, including Teaching Professors, serve as academic advisers and on departmental or university committees and receive support for continuing professional development.
