The Research Associate (Quality Assurance Director) to be responsible for assisting the Director and Associate Director of the UNC Project Warp Speed (UNC PWS) vaccine evaluation program to develop, implement and oversee quality assurance and regulatory compliance strategies applicable to Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) compliant laboratories performing endpoint and proficiency testing immunologic assays on specimens from human clinical trials of candidate COVID-19 vaccines. This position responds directly to the Director (Dr. Ralph Baric) and Associate Director (Dr. Mark Heise) of UNC PWSVEP. The Position also works in Coordination with Project Coordinator of UNC PWSVEP

Educational Requirements

Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related degree, plus 3 or more years of relevant experience in a research setting with a bachelor’s degree. May require terminal degree and licensure.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience in the Quality Assurance with Laboratory experience.The ideal candidate must have laboratory experience and must be able to act independently and to problem solve under various conditions. This job requires people and organizational skills, good writing and communicating skills, firm understanding of GCLP guidelines, ability to analyze trends and data.
