The Linnstaedt Lab in the Department of Anesthesiology at UNC-CH invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar to perform animal behavioral and molecular/cell culture work as part of a funded project (R01NS118563) focused on understanding mechanisms and safety related to a novel therapeutic target for the prevention of chronic pain following trauma exposure.

Postdoctoral research associates will be highly encouraged to submit applications for postdoctoral fellowship awards from relevant institutional, government and foundation organizations. Postdoctoral research associates will also have the opportunity to prepare and submit abstracts to attend national and international conferences.

Educational Requirements

A D.V.M., Ph.D. and/or M.D. in biomedical or related sciences is required

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates are expected to have strong problem solving, oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues in a laboratory setting, as well as independently. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and will be expected to exhibit a strong work ethic. Training in animal behavior, molecular biology, and pain biology demonstrated by a strong track-record of relevant publications and presentations is preferred.
