Normal Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday-Friday; onsite, in the college

Job Summary: The Instructional Technologist IV utilizes pedagogically sound principles to assist faculty with the integration of technology into instruction to enhance teaching and learning. Provides lead support for enterprise instructional technology resources supported by the Center for Instructional Technology. Provides faculty development, support and documentation for instructional technology. Evaluates emerging instructional technologies. May be responsible for training, assisting or supervising lower level staff. Serves as project manager for selected instructional technologies.

Additional Department Summary: The Director of Technology and Distance Education leads others in developing a strategic vision for the college’s use of technology in multiple venues. The Director is responsible for the Clinical Practice Laboratory, the Simulation Center, the computer labs, and other technology based initiatives in the college. The Director oversees fiscal resources for computer hardware, software and laboratory equipment. The Director assures that technology and other such resources are provided as well as training in using and troubleshooting technology. The Director assures that students are provided with assistance in use of technology and other learning resources. The Director oversees the college’s Learning Resource Center including human and material resources. The Director ensures that the CCN website is current and is updated as needed. The Director is responsible for the technology utilized in providing courses through distance education; and he/she provides educational and consultative support to faculty in development, revision, and maintenance of online courses.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree and one (1) year of professional instructional technology experience in higher education, to include personnel management experience and experience purchasing supplies and/or equipment.

Skills and Knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office Suites, Novell Netware, LDAP, UNIX, Linux, HTML, Web design, Virtualization, Imaging/duplication techniques, and PC and peripheral hardware. Experience with Blackboard and other learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) and experience with UA Systems such as Concur and Banner. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree preferred. Certification or post-graduate education in instructional design/development and E-learning is preferred. Also, would prefer that the graduate degree be in computer technology, information technology, interactive technology, instructional technology, or nursing.
