This position is limited to 19.6 hours or less a week and offers no benefits. Prospective candidates must be licensed by the State of Arizona as a health care professional who provides athletic training services for student-athletes. This on-call position will assist the Sports Medicine Staff in providing care for student-athletes on an as-needed basis. The Athletic Trainer I, Technical Expert position reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Medical Services and the Head Team Physician.

  • Evaluate, manage, and treat injuries incurred by all Arizona stud ent-athletes as indicated
  • Assist with Test, Trace, and Treat protocols associated with COVID-19
  • Provide athletic training coverage to athletes as assessed 
  • Communicate the medical status of team members with appropriate personnel
  • Assist with the daily operations of the Kasser Medical Treatment Center
  • Provide appropriate supervision of student technicians
  • Maintain knowledge of and observe pertinent OSHA regulations to minimize the risk of transmission of blood-borne pathogens
  • Complete and maintain comprehensive legal records associated with injury evaluation, treatment, and referral of all athletes under direct care
  • Instruction and supervision of any persons who may use the facilities including but not limited to the University of Arizona student-athletes and staff, visiting student-athletes, and non student-athletes 
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • National Athletic Trainers Association Certification
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Eligible for Arizona Athletic Training License
