Governors State University is seeking to hire a Student Success Coach for Gaining Enrichment through Educational Readiness (GEER) program. The GEER program is intended to provide a multifaceted, comprehensive and systematic approach to provide mentoring, intentional advising, and
resource support to assist students persisting to degree completion. The primary goal of the program is to increase degree completion rates for low-income, first-generation, and minority students (both
undergraduate and graduate). The Student Success Coach reports to the GEER Project Coordinator and serves as the main point of contact for an assigned group of students to guide them to achieve academic success. The Success Coach will counsel, motivate, advise, and assist with the enrollment process in order to help all students
meet their educational goals.

Starting Salary Range: $37,187.28 to $42,765.372.
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2021.

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED: COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below).

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

2. Two years or more of progressively responsible experience in the area of Student Support Services.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a college or university with a residential, traditional/nontraditional and large
commuter student population.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
