Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations/Advertising. Two years professional experience in writing, marketing, social media, public relations, planning large-scale events. Experience in an academic environment preferable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Create digital and print media for the College of Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice Center. Coordinate events and recruitment efforts for the college.
Primary Responsibilities
Plans, writes, edits, and reviews content for publications, news releases, advertisements, web pages, videos and social media posts for the College of Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice Center. Partners together on activities, programs, publications, awards and general matters of interest. Researches and conducts interviews to produce targeted news reports for both internal and external audiences as well as expanded features on research, teaching, operations, and student activities for various publication outlets. Markets, advertises, and promotes the College of Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice Center programs, events and services to students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff. Plans, coordinates, organizes, and markets recruiting and student events in the college. Assists program managers in creating, planning, and executing new recruitment outreach events to attract quality applicants. Responds to inquiries or requests for information and serves as primary point of contact for college programs. Processes purchasing within the department. Provides supervision to student workers. Performs other related duties as assigned.
