Position Summary

The Nurse Clinician I will provide direct nursing care to patients and assist health care providers with pre/post medical procedures; interview patients and triage telephone calls in order to determine & assess patient's health care needs; develop plan of care or refer as necessary; administer medications, perform patient procedures, and complete patient required forms. The Nurse Clinician I will serve as an advocate and provide instruction & counseling to patients and their families; document nursing actions in patient's records in order to provide accurate medical records for future reference and accountability; review laboratory results and initiate appropriate actions and communicate results with patients, physicians, and others as appropriate. Models Service Excellence, critical thinking and professional behavior.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Bachelor's degree in Nursing and/or work experience in a particular area of nursing or health care. Licensed in the State of Michigan

BSN preferred

Ambulatory Clinic experience
