CAM Operations Coordinator

Position Summary

The CAM Operations Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Capital Asset Management department under the supervision of the Management Analyst.

  • Create and maintain asset records, audit Purchase Order/PREQ and apply payments
  • Process Gift and Loan forms
  • Assist units with submitting and correcting documents to asset records
  • Respond to stakeholder questions regarding assets
  • Serve as liaison with University departments
  • As the CAMS subject matter expert, advise in the development and implementation of hardware/software systems
  • Participate in analysis, design and review of business processes, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain CAM unit fleet vehicle
  • Coordinate year-end activities
  • Conducts physical audits of equipment. Requires physical presence in campus buildings to locate and identify university assets
  • Promote use of non-capital asset tags for departments to track their own equipment that is not accounted for by financial analysis
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an associate’s degree in a business-related field or in a field related to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in performing tasks related to the area of employment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver license and ability to meet University driving record requirements.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using Kuali Financial Systems and related modules – asset management, purchasing/accounts payable
  • Knowledge of MSU Accounting string
  • Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to maintaining/reporting capital assets
  • Knowledge of basic personal computer terminology and operations and ability to use e-mail and the internet.
