The Senior Financial Analysts perform a variety of complex financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, building financial models, assisting with financial and budget planning, performing research and analysis, preparing various accounting and financial reports, and serving as a technical resource in various ad hoc projects.Position Overview

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and four (4) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Knowledge of financial and budget forecasting.
•Proficient in a number of computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and a variety of other software applications.
•Experience in data analysis and visualization to draw relevant conclusions.
•Experience compiling statistical data and preparing a report.
•Experience in recommending actions through analysis and studying proposed changes in processes.
•Experience in budgeting, including research clinical trials budgeting, long-term strategic planning, and resource allocation processes.
•Ability to maintain effective working relationships through solid communication and excellent interpersonal skills.

Tasks are multiple and diverse with some interrelationship across processes. Handles some unrelated functions which require the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies, and/or precedents.o
Monitor internal and external obligations, expenditures, and perform financial management analyses to ensure budgeting execution is aligned with the division’s goals. Provide analysis of financial data, trend analysis, forecasts, and the monitoring of key financial metrics.o
Perform financial data analysis and provide support for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and budget reports. Provide variance analysis of budget vs. actual results, and provide explanations of the causes of any material variances.o
Collaborate with different units within the Division of Research to support the development and analysis of operating and capital budgets. Triage division-specific questions for accounting, finance, and other business support by serving as the primary contact for the divisions’ units.o
Ability to analyze, consolidate, and present accounting data in clear concise form.
Ability to work accurately with numerical detail consistently and to perform accounting operations legibly.
