Job Summary:

OSU-OKCmarketing efforts are committed to a) enhancing the brand, reputation and valueof OSU-OKC and b) increasing enrollment of new students and retention ofexisting students. Marketing and Communication efforts are all encompassing andmay include multi-media, multi-platform and campaigns that employ both digitaland social media marketing as well as traditional techniques and elements. Themix could include but is not limited to or required to include: digitalmarketing and remarketing; Web; geo-targeting; email; radio; text; TV and printadvertising; English language and Spanish language advertising; partnerships;streaming audio and video services; and electronic and traditional billboards. Job Function:
Lead and serve the Marketingand Communications Office. Develops, implements and guides the OSU-OklahomaCity Brand marketing and public relations strategies and enrollment, retentionand persistency marketing strategy, including administration of campus wideadvertising, conference services, inclusive of non-credit educational and /orcommunity events, marketing and media placement. Oversees the institution’s efforts to research, write,and publish articles, newsletters/magazines, press releases, and other specialassignments for internal and external publications. The over-riding focus ofall efforts is on increasing enrollment and visibility of OSU-OKC in the community.Interface with the OSU-OKC Executive Team.

Essential Job Functions:

    Passion and outstanding ability to tell engaging, compelling stories using words and images for any medium (presentations, web, social media, PR, etc.)
    Provides leadership, development, and management for the Marketing and Communications Department, web and social media platforms, and Print and Mail Services. Directly oversees and manages budget and implementation of goals and objectives. Develops, implements and continuous improves a comprehensive branding, marketing and communications that includes social and electonic media, advertising/image, and PR campaign to include overseeing the production and use of campus logos, slogans and themes. Oversees all publications and website. Develops and implements tracking of ROI for advertising, marketing and media Develops new communications vehicles to meet unique or developing challenges or opportunities with an eye toward new technologies.Responsible for planning, updating, and submitting a Strategic Planning report to the Vice President of Student Experience and President for approval.Serves as chief public information officer with both print and broadcast mediums for press releases, feature articles and public service announcements. Serves as a clearinghouse for all external information.
    Supervises and guides all department staff and any contractors utilized by the department. Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all University publications. Coordinate media interest in the University and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.Coordinate the appearance of all University print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
    Develop, coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials to assist various departments in the marketing, communications and positioning of their activities.
    Ensure that the University regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends.
    Leads special projects as assigned, such as special events, re-branding/logo development, and capital campaign communications plan.
    Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing and communications, and not-for-profit management and governance, and the specific business of the University and use this information to help the institution operate with initiative and innovation.
    Responsible for campus photographic needs and the archiving of external/internal campus information and photographs.
    Develop a sense of shared mission with staff to jointly achieve organization-wide goals and support the success of each mission pillar.
    Works with the OSU-Oklahoma City Vice President of Student Experience and President to coordinate and transmit information about the college to business, civic and public leaders.
    Works with OSU System communicators to ensure consistent system wide image and messaging. Assists all academic and non-academic offices with marketing and communication needs.
    Completes all mandatory training and participates in a minimum of two professional development each year.
    Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Experience.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or related field.

Work Experience:

    Strong managerial or supervisory experience
    Demonstrated excellent communicator with proven marketing skills
    Minimum of three progressive years experience in marketing, public relations, multi-channel target styles, publications, and/or media relations, video and photography
    Progressive knowledge of social and electronic media
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Strategic and creative thinker, insightful and curious; ability to develop concepts and see them through to implementation
    Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a strategy on time and on budget
    Proven with progressive experience in building and implementing a successful prospective and existing students life cycle marketing and communication strategy integrated across multiple prospective and existing students touch points
    Strong leadership and organizational skills
    Strong marketing and presentation skills
    Ability to interpret and translate facts and information, explaining situations and issues concerning the institution, to the media
    Ability to manage multiple priorities imposed by frequent deadlines, peak workloads, and public/student contact.
    Ability to communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information, give/receive instructions and respond to inquiries appropriately.
    Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural environment in an effort to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
    Proven in creating, building and retaining progress working/collaborative relationships across multiple constituencies and team member types. Diversity and inclusion is a natural extension of this campus leader
    Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    Ability to develop/maintain a positive atmosphere for the continued growth and enhancement of the institution’s efforts for the metropolitan Oklahoma City area

Preferred Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in related field preferred
    Prior work experience at an institution of higher education and knowledge of the goals and objectives of a two-year community college or similar educational entity.
Working Conditions:

    Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends in an often times busy and noisy environment.
    Work will be performed in various environments; office, remote, classrooms, outside, with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone and via email.
Physical Requirements:

    Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, talking, listening and computer usage
    Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift).
    Ability to operate a motor vehicle to attend off campus meetings.
