Assistant / Associate / Full Professor – Clinician Teacher and QIPS Research Specialist, Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine, along with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sinai Health System, are seeking to recruit a Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) Research Specialist. The successful candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher, and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The tentative start date of this appointment is January 1, 2021, or another mutually agreeable date.

The successful applicant for this full-time physician role will have demonstrated research excellence and subspecialty training in quality improvement and patient safety (QIPS). The incumbent will be involved in the clinical care of women in the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sinai Health System. The physician will participate in teaching of trainees at all levels. The candidate will provide innovative program development and participate in QIPS research activity. The incumbent will develop educational tools for medical students, as well as teach residents in the ob/gyn and family practice programs. The physician will also participate in the hospital call roster for general obstetrics and gynaecology.

Qualified applicants must hold an MD degree, must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), and be licensed (or eligible for licensure) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful candidate will have, or will be working towards, a Master’s degree in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety research. This position requires an individual who promotes and demonstrates excellence in professional practice and conduct.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
