The Associate Director for Student Programs & Activities reports to the Director for Campus Activities and serves as a senior leader in the Department of Campus Activities (DCA). This position provides leadership and vision for the Student Involvement unit. The Student Involvement unit has the responsibility for creating meaningful engagement opportunities that contribute positively to student life within the Western Carolina University community. The unit is comprised of the Associate Director for Student Programs & Activities, the Assistant Director for Clubs & Organizations, the Assistant Director for Communications and the Assistant Director for Programs. This unit also oversees the Student Government Association (SGA).

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree and 3-5 years’ experience in a Student Affairs or Higher Education setting and supervision of professional staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supervising full-time and master’s level staff, managing budgets, negotiating and reviewing performance contracts, and coordinating large scale campus programs and departmental assessment.
