Description:
The Department of Structural and Cellular Biology at Tulane University School of Medicine is accepting applications for an education-track position in the anatomical sciences. Individuals with experience in teaching Neuroanatomy, Gross Anatomy, Embryology and Histology are encouraged to apply.
Current instructional methodologies used in teaching these disciplines include lectures, small group laboratory sessions, problem-based learning (PBL), team-based learning (TBL), flipped classroom, and standardized patient encounters. The successful applicant must not only demonstrate a strong commitment to outstanding teaching and scholarship in medical education, but a demonstrated record of innovative and integrative approaches to teaching and learning in the anatomical sciences. This position reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Structural and Cellular Biology.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D., M.D., D.M.D., D.O., EdD and/or equivalent degree.
Preferred applicants will have experience with the following:
- development and delivery of a course in Neuroanatomy, Histology, and Anatomy at an LCME-accredited medical school
- pedagogies including adult learning theories, assessments, and course and curriculum design
- innovative teaching methods including team teaching, problem-based learning, flipped classroom, interactive large group presentations, and computer-based interactive teaching programs
- scholarly activity in medical education and/or anatomical research
