IIT is searching for a well-qualified candidate to join our vibrant and growing team as a Research Software Engineer, Intermediate. This position will act as a technical liaison with a scientific background to support a variety research needs across multiple disciplines. Key responsibilities include develop and maintain the infrastructure middleware to support variety of advanced computational and analytical research projects, working closely with the research community to identify, install and maintain the needed scientific software within the high performance computing environment at GSU.

The scope of responsibilities for this position will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following,

  • Work collaboratively with faculty, researchers, and students from across a range of disciplines with varying level of technical expertise to facilitate funded computational research

  • Software engineering for programming design, modification, and implementation

  • Work with advance computing staff to develop and maintain technical documentation, both internal (admin facing) and external (user facing).

  • Conduct training workshop to promote software development

  • Attend conferences and workshops relevant to HPC to advance skills

QualificationsBachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
