Overview
The Princeton Program in Public Economics has several openings for full-time pre-doctoral fellows (Senior Research Specialists). The positions involve responsibilities that serve as excellent preparation for Ph.D. programs in economics, including data processing and analysis, survey design, simulation techniques, literature reviews, and presentations. Research fellows will work with Professors Henrik Kleven, Ilyana Kuziemko, and Owen Zidar along with their co-authors, on topics such as income and wealth inequality, gender inequality, intergenerational mobility, preferences for redistribution, and the analysis of tax and social insurance policies. Opportunity for candidate to take one graduate or undergraduate course per semester.This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The end date is dependent on the start date, which may vary, but will likely be during the Summer or early Fall of 2021. The position is based in Princeton, NJ, though some RAs live in the metropolitan area and work remotely for part of the week.
Responsibilities
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Math, Computer Science, or Statistics, or significant advanced coursework in these areas.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Knowledge of statistics/econometrics.
- Knowledge of statistical programming, particularly STATA. Experience with programs such as SAS, Matlab, and Python is also desirable.
- Knowledge of standard internet tools and HTML is desirable. Familiarity with standard social science data sources is desirable.
Qualifications
