The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Brody School of Medicine is seeking a surgical pathologist at the title of Clinical Assistant Professor or rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
The successful candidate will join a well-established academic practice that includes five other surgical pathologists. Approximately 19,900 surgical and 7,000 cytology cases including 1,300 fine needle aspirates are accessioned into the department annually.
The department houses residency, cytopathology, forensic pathology and surgical pathology fellowship programs.
The candidate will be expected to participate in surgical pathology service responsibilities, medical student/resident/fellow education and clinical research. Job responsibilities will include surgical pathology, cytopathology, clinical laboratory coverage, share of clinical call; excellence in teaching; research (including publications in scholarly, refereed journals and presentations at learned societies); service to the department, school, university, and profession; and any additional duties assigned by the department chair.Minimum Education/Experience
MD or DO degree from appropriately accredited institution. Training and experience in surgical pathology, including, gross supervision, and intraoperative diagnosis/frozen section.License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
NC Medical License required. AP or AP/CP board certified.Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Training in gynecologic, GU, head and neck, and/or cytopathology sub-specialty area(s).Special Instructions to Applicant
