This researcher will work in the Commins Lab where we investigate a unique food allergy caused by tick bites. The position will be responsible for performing bench experiments (ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry) and maintenance of cell-lines; measuring IgE; processing, shipping and receiving samples. No prior lab experience is necessary but is valued. Occasional assistance with lab animal experiments is expected. There can be opportunities for more direct patient/participant communication and clinical interaction for the right candidate. This position requires a person who is highly attentive to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in collection and maintaining research data.Education and Experience
Minimum Education and Experience:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work or willing to acquire these through hands-on instruction.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic understanding of biology and a desire to learn techniques such as antibody detection and cell culture.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Some prior experience in experimental design and basic laboratory techniques.
