The Medical Coder will perform patient accounting and insurance services for the medical clinics of Carolina Dentistry. The position is responsible for filing insurance claims, working with care coordinators in acquiring pre-authorization and prior approvals, following up on all outstanding claims and submitting appeals for denials. This position is responsible for maintaining a relationship with representatives of Medicaid and with insurance carriers with whom the departments are contracted. This position works closely with patients and families regarding insurance coverage and account self-pay balances.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
