Job Summary

The Soil and Water Quality group in the Plant and Soil Sciences Department within the College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment is seeking a Research Analyst to join a team involved in edge-of-field water quality monitoring.

This is a grant funded, 2 to 3-year, laboratory position where the successful candidate will join a team focused on quantifying nutrients and soil runoff in agricultural fields and newly developed wetlands. In this dynamic environment we are seeking applicants with experience and/or interest in analytical techniques germane to soil, plant and water analyses. For example, the successful candidate will join two other research analysts utilizing three new instruments: a new state-of-the-art Agilent 5110 Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES), two new Hach Lachat Quickchem 8500 Flow Injection Autoanalyzers, and a new Thermo Scientific Flash Smart EA Combustion NC SOIL analyzer. The successful candidate will have a Master of Science degree (preferred), laboratory experience and a strong interest working in a laboratory environment. Interpersonal communication skills are expected as this job requires daily interactions with laboratory mangers, research team members, and students.
