Job Summary

Over the past 40 years, the University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) has built an internationally recognized research program directed to the development of high-performance cementitious technologies and the utilization of industrial byproduct materials. CAER is staffing its cementitious materials program and seeks a research scientist at the Principal level. The applicant will be primarily responsible for understanding cement chemistry, cement hydration mechanics, aggregate systems, Portland cement systems, calcium sulfoaluminate cement systems, high-performance cementitious technologies, cementitious composites, and industrial byproduct characterization and utilization. Applicants for the Principal research scientist position will preferably have experience in cementitious materials research, proposal development and project planning and management, laboratory safety; strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, and initiative; and the ability to work well with all levels of personnel throughout CAER’s laboratories.
